The FMCG packaging has a short shelf-life but they require fast turnaround, and demand tricky consistency and runs undefined. Mumbai-based Perfect Packaging triumphed them all, pushing boundaries of possibilities, as one judge said.
Perfect Packaging’s packaging included Blu Bella, a luxury perfume; Occasion for cultural and bridal fine jewellery; Raksha for rachis; and Gold Magic, for jewellery.
The Ble Bella packaging was printed using CMYK plus a special white on ITC Cyber XL paperboard. The special feature was adding natural elements of birds and trees which required the company to work on Illustration to add details to the wings. The result - blue and gold foiling perfectly central to the two-piece external carton.
The Occasion packaging too was a five colour print job, CMYK and Pantone 720C.
Finishing for both the boxes involved, thermal and velvet, gold and blue foiling with the use of Crystal UV on the Heidelberg foiling machine. The challenge involved ensuring consistency of the glitter and colour matching across all the different processes and media to produce smaller packages (dabbi) within the outer packaging with its sub-branding and foiling.
The Raksha and Gold Magic boxes too were heavy with thermal laminating, with Gold Magic adding a touch of everything – six colours, six types of UV (matt, reflective, spot, wrinkle, abrasive and crystal), which Perfect said, was truly commendable on the part of its team to achieve.
Judges said the submission featured “great samples with great print and great finishing”.
