Prodon Enterprise wins Fine Art Printer of the Year

It is now widely acknowledged that prints have come to be appreciated for their unique and powerful contribution to the art world. Prodon Enterprise’s four samples in the Fine Art Printer of the Year category just confirmed it. And all the prints were produced on the “good ole” Mitsubishi Diamond 1000, a four-colour plus coater press.

The first sample was 2022-23 Collection of Art for Akara Art. The inner pages were printed on Iris SG white 130 gsm, and the end-paper used Munter Polar 150-gsm, printed with a special colour. The cover was hot-foil stamped and debossed and given a coat of satin aqueous. The second was an art catalogue, an evening sale for Saffronart with a print run of 2,500. The art catalogue was given a hot-foil stamping gloss gold finish and a satin aqueous varnish coat throughout. The envelope was matt laminated.

The two other samples were Pundole’s The Fine Art Sale and Nasreen Mohamedi’s art catalogues. The Nasreen Mohamedi catalogue had varied processes like, with a special note given for punching and perforation and its accuracy. Both the catalogues had a print run of 2,000+ and printed on rendezvous range of specialty papers.

Prodon’s prints have shown “the possibilities offset can deliver”, said one of the judges of the four samples.
