All the newspaper samples submitted by ABP were broadsheets of a 346 by 533.4-mm cut-off length, printed on the standard Kruger-Canada newsprint of 40-gsm. The newspapers were printed on the Wifag-OF 370S high-speed (84,000-copies/hour) double-width double-circumference newspaper web offset press.

ABP has won the Award for its print innovations that offered better visibility to its advertisers. All the samples had a print run of 2,00,000-copies.

The first Anandabazar Patrika featured a French window. To implement it, an additional assembly was attached on top of the tower from where the print web was going to be printed in the press. The position of the slitter was critical as the cutting would have to look like a perfect French window.

In the second Anandabazar Patrika sample, one page from the inside is jutted out from the main product for better visibility and accessibility . It acts as an index page, allowing one to access the remaining part of the advertisement.

The third Anandabazar Patrika sample featured a flap with a pseudo panorama. The flap was designed with a map of the locality featuring the project. It was glued to the spine. The side-lay and cut-off of the flap page and the pseudo panorama page were micro-adjusted to get the perfect alignment. All this was achieved at 84,000 copies per house offset machine during production.

For the cover-on-cover with the flap inside The Telegraph, the fourth and final sample, ABP discussed with the client  and came up with the consensus that one cover-on-cover and another flap will help differentiate between two different categories of product promotion. Special care was needed for the special-sized reel during printing for the necessary web-tensioning elements in the machine to hold properly due to its non-standard size. All this was achieved at 84,000 copies per hour on the offset machine during production.
