PrintWeek Awards 2024: Archana Advertising wins Fine Art Printer of the Year (Joint Winner)

This is Archana’s second win this year. The company also won the Prism in the Book Printer of the Year (Speciality and Trade) category. This proves once and for all — artists and art galleries alike trust Archana to produce near-perfect facsimiles of their work. The samples came with matching boxes that added to the product’s aesthetic and utility.

Just one copy of Raza for the Vadehra Art Gallery was printed on a Konica Minolta AccurioPress, followed by an aqueous coating on the pages. The book contains around 600 old photographs. Since the originals were unavailable, Archana had to rely on its tech-skills to match them.

1,000-copies MF Husain: The Journey of a Legend for the Stellar International Art Foundation was printed on a Komori Enthrone on Rendezvous paper. Post-press processes included hot foil on the cover, UV, and debossing. The book features Husain’s early works from a private collection — and Archana had to produce the best results possible, without being able to see the originals.

1,000-copies of Looking Back were printed for Sudip Roy on Komori, Heidelberg and Mitsubishi presses using rough-gloss fine-texture paper. The artist supplied the original artwork, which was photographed at Archana’s studio, and processed to match the colour values.

500 copies of Sujata Bajaj’s Ganapati for Galerie Patrice Trigano were printed on Komori, Heidelberg and Mitsubishi presses using rough-gloss fine-texture paper. Post-press processes included UV on the cover and foil on the slipcase. The artist did not want to compromise on the colour of the prints. It was a challenging task as the originals were not available.
