PrintWeek Awards 2024: Brilliant Printers wins Book Printer of the Year (Education) (Joint Winner)

Over 53 years, Brilliant Printers has perfected the art of printing all kinds of books, including texts like The Holy Bible. The company has a 1,53,000-sqft facility. Its expertise is demonstrated in using paper with a lower grammage, hardcover binding, long print runs, and special attention to embellishments. The jury members were particularly impressed with the post-press processes on the titles Brilliant Printers submitted for the Awards.

Bible Origins for HarperCollins Christian Publishing had a print run of 6,000-copies. The 528-page book was printed on 80-gsm art paper. Dual materials were used for the bookcase, creating a fish-like design. The book came with a slipcase that had spot UV embellishment. 

The Children’s Bible for St Paul’s Publications, with 448-pages, had a print run of 5,000-copies. The hardbound book had a round-back finish. The job showcased the art of four-colour printing without compromise, and various post-press finishes, including hot foil stamping.  

The 1,632-page NIRV Kid’s Quest Bible for HarperCollins Christian Publishing was printed on thin 39-gsm opaque paper and was bound in flex board. Brilliant Printers used polyurethane for the bookcase. The print run was 75,000-copies. 

Word of Life for The Augustine Institute had a print run of 3,000-copies. It featured perforation on all pages so that Sunday School students can tear out worksheets. Hardbound and printed on 80-gsm Super White Maplitho paper, the 336-page book highlights Brilliant’s expertise in four-colour printing.
