PrintWeek Awards 2024: Jupiter Laminators wins Packaging Company of the Year - Flexible Packaging

With a workforce of 500 employees and a group turnover exceeding USD 85 million, Jupiter Laminators is poised for further growth in the packaging industry. What impressed the jury is how the flexible packaging major is pursuing expansion. The plans include the addition of printing machines, an extruder lamination line, as well as a new project for aluminium foil stock production in Jammu. The group’s green initiatives include thermic fluid filters to minimise air pollution and the use of water-based inks and adhesives.

Presently, Jupiter’s facility in Sonipat is equipped with extrusion lamination lines, rotogravure printing machines, and a seven-layer barrier cast polypropylene (CPP) line. The company also utilises technology like metallisers with adhesion-plus features to ensure high-quality output. Its infrastructure supports both large-scale production and a commitment to environmental standards, including rainwater harvesting and diesel-to-PNG conversions.

Jupiter Laminators are experts because of its biaxially-oriented polypropylene (BOPP) and high barrier metallised biaxially-oriented polypropylene (HB MET BOPP) structures that are designed to offer barrier properties extending the shelf life of the products. The group’s production capacity has expanded from 500-metric tons per month to 1,800-metric tons.

Jupiter Laminators specialises in flexible packaging solutions that are environmentally friendly and technologically advanced. The jury’s favourite is the printed 3D and 2D pouch. This uses the same family structure (BOPP/natural CPP HS). But looks similar to Kraft paper and is 100% recyclable. The USP is, the recyclable laminate replaces PET/PE structure and kraft paper/PET/PE structure.
