PrintWeek Awards 2024: Letra Graphix wins Digital Printer of the Year (Joint Winner)

In 2023, Letra Graphix bucked the trend that digital printing was the forte of commercial printing companies, by winning the Digital Printer of the Year Award. Letra marches on, winning the Award this year too. The company has produced four stunning labels using PP silver, mirror coat paper, wine matt blanc paper and PP white, all produced on the Gallus Labelfire hybrid press.

According to Letra, the Red Wine Organic label is expertly crafted on PP silver, giving it a refined, metallic sheen that elevates its luxurious allure. The label boasts a mesmerising design with textured veins that can be felt, adding a tactile element to the visual experience. The use of metallic PP intensifies the pink colour gradient, creating a shimmering, elegant effect that perfectly complements the rich tones of the wine. One jury member astutely noted, “The label exudes sophistication and leaves a lasting impression with its remarkable presentation.”

The Mountain Reserve label is a stunning example of advanced printing techniques. The high-resolution 1,200x1,200-dpi image is brought to life with intricate details, giving the label a 3D-effect that draws the viewer in. “The combination of foiling, gloss and matt finishes elevates the label’s aesthetic appeal, and adds a sense of realism and depth, that will make it a perfect choice for premium products,” said one judge.

The Nefertum label is a masterclass , printed on black paper, utilising a combination of gloss and matt effects strategically applied across different areas of the design. Letra has simulated an emboss and deboss without the need for actual embossing or debossing technique. “The result is a rich, textured appearance that enhances the overall aesthetic of the labels,” a jury member said.

And finally, the Beer of the Sun label exemplifies premium quality and precision. The image printed at an impressive 1,200-dpi ensured exceptional sharpness and details making the label visually striking and highly refined.
