The near-field communication (NFC) chip label, its latest innovation, is designed to combat counterfeiting while maintaining a clean and simple label design. The 2,000-metre-run label, integrates a chip directly into the labels and eliminates the need for QR codes. The solution is printed on the Gallus Labelfire press using special colours, enhances security and provides a seamless and modern user experience. Letra used three special colours – green, blue and red to produce the labels.

The Galatea label is crafted on the Maretele Blanc paper. The labels are printed on the Gallus Labelfire press with screen emboss depositing the colours with a silver foil. Despite its simple appearance, this label incorporates highly intricate print techniques. For example, it combines foiling, embossing, creating a tactile, three-dimensional effect enhancing the label’s elegance.

Letra used the Gallus Labelfire to print the two Kimirica Hunter International labels with runs of 3,000 and 500; emboss and give a window matt varnish; and gold foil. The labels printed on PP clear substrate also have elements of flexo on the inner and outer sides — white, cyan, yellow, magenta and black and special colours.

The Eiffel Tower in one of the Kimirica label is printed on the adhesive side, creating a subtle, see-through effect on the backside.
