PrintWeek Awards Jury Day kicks off
The Jury Day for the PrintWeek Awards is finally here. The full-day event with an elite panel of 25 jury members who will judge the Awards has commenced. Noel D'cunha, managing editor of PrintWeek and WhatPackaging? magazines said, "This year the industry response has been stupendous. We’re pleased to announce that the PrintWeek Awards has entries from more than 112 print firms and packaging converters across India."

From early morning on 28 September, jury members began poring through thousand entries and discussing their choices with fellow jurists all of whom are impassioned creatives and leaders in their fields. PrintWeek Awards is the only awards which evaluates four samples in each category; so the jurists can look at a body of work during the year as a benchmark, plus award points for pioneering work and innovations.
Noel D'Cunha said, "Trends indicate a boost to domestic print and packaging production and more print jobs are being created more efficiently." As per PrintWeek, print GDP has grown tenfold and the average capita print consumption has risen five fold since the Awards premiered in 2009.
D'Cunha said, The message from PrintWeek Awards Jury Day is, many more print entrepreneurs across the country who are excelling in technology and manufacturing. He added, "One huge take away from the PrintWeek Awards Jury Day is print's strong entrepreneurial culture". This year more than two out of four firms are new to the entry list
In 2022, there are 14 Quality Categories and five Special Covid Awards. Plus 10 Performance Categories which will be evaluated and audited on the basis of their financial balance-sheet by JK Doshi & Co who are the official auditors of the Performance Awards.
Kalpak Shah, senior executive, awards and events said, "The jury day is an exciting event for the team. I have been ably supported by five SIES GST students who have helped me in briefing the print and packaging converters plus soliciting the award entries." Shah added, "As in every edition, all print jobs have been coded and the identity of the company has been kept a secret."
The Awards Night is scheduled for 2 November. The venue is: Grand Hyatt, off the Western Express Highway, Santacruz East in Mumbai.
