With a number of print firms sending deserving entries, the judges had a daunting task picking the best of the best during the PrintWeek India Awards 2015 judging process.

The ensemble of more than 1,200 print samples from 113 print firms were spread and the action was in full force on 25 August during the judging process for PrintWeek India Awards 2015 at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai.

The enthusiastic 25-member jury, an all-new independent panel drawn from the full spectrum of print discipline comprising print buyers, professional and designers, were split into four groups to sift through the entries in 20 Quality Awards and six Performance Awards categories, which were further grouped.

Last year, during the sixth edition of PrintWeek India Awards Jury Day at The Leela in Mumbai, 122 print companies across India came under the spotlight of 46 discerning members of jury.

Here’s what the jury had to say about the print samples received last year;

Complimenting the quality of entries received, Karan Rawat, Autumnwinter Communications & Design said,  “In terms of technique and technology, we have the best in talent. However, from what I have seen, most of the entries could have become excellent pieces of communication if they had got the design elements right. This clearly illustrates how most advertising agencies have forgotten how to optimise one of the oldest forms of communication.”

Rajnish Shirsat, R & S Enterprise said, "Some of the entries submitted by the printing firms are really exceptional. These are fine examples of the kind of printing work that is possible even in India, specially in the PUR and Digital category."

Another jury member, Paulose Parakkadan, R-pac India amazed with several of the entries said, “Although, there are certain repetitions in effects and techniques used but the execution of the idea by several of the companies I judged was simply brilliant and classy.”

On 7 October, team PrintWeek India will have its big night of the year with the seventh PrintWeek India Awards honouring more than 20 Indian printers.
