Every year, since eight years, the PrintWeek India Awards team receives 1000+ samples, encompassing categories like books, packaging, labels, etc. After the feedback during the Jury Week, the PrintWeek team designed a workshop for design agencies, print buyers, and top brands.
The idea is simple: share print jobs with the advertising and print buying industry. The workshop will see discussion on detailed technical specifications like length run, substrates used and pre-press and post-press operations of the creative work produced in India.
According to Ramu Ramanathan, editor, PrintWeek India, “For the past few years, we have been crunching the print sample data from the Awards. We believe the print samples we receive explore attitudes in the Indian market. And so, our research relies on a total of 1500 print samples that encompass major categories like (books, financial services, automotive, retail, consumer electronics, media and telecommunications, travel and leisure, and household and personal care) and other sub-categories.”
One such workshop was organised for DY Works on 18 October 2016.
The event will see participation from 25-30 delegates from design agencies in Pune. “The aim is to start a conversation between designers and print-packaging converters,” Ramanathan said.
