Due to the changing market trends in labels, and disruptive labels being introduced year in and year out, selecting the real winner in this category has become a tough task for the PrintWeek India Awards jury members.

Noel D’Cunha, managing editor of PrintWeek India, said, “Innovation in labelling has become the centrepiece of any successful package or printing. Due to the growing market trends revolving customisation and personalisation, printers have slowly started investing in digital printers, which was the core topic of interest at the recently concluded LMAI conference 2019.”

For presenting the awards, the PrintWeek India jury would be looking for the best examples of labels printed using any process (letterpress, offset, flexo, digital).

Of particular interest would be the use and application of special colours and finishes, printing on difficult or unusual substrates, and incorporation of newer technologies.

"Technologies such as IoT, Industry 4.0 and holography are booming; this would be an exciting facet to look for at the Labelexpo Europe 2019 and also for the Label Printer of the Year Award," added D'Cunha.

Any Graphics bagged the honours in 2018. The shortlisted companies in the previous edition were, Kumar Labels, Kwality Offset, Mudrika Labels,  Pragati Pack, Sai Paks (Sai Group), and Sonic Labels.
