The half-hour long telecast will feature glimpses of the Awards Night, which was held on 6 October at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. During the ceremony, 23 print firms across 26 categories were awarded with the PrintWeek Prism; a recognition for their print excellence.
The ceremony also celebrated the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi, who had championed the power of print while connecting to the masses across India, with his own printing venture, Young India. In this sense, the one-act play, Mahadevbhai, performed by Jaimini Pathak, was the highlight of the show.
The chief guest, Shri Tushar Gandhi, the Mahatma’s great-grandson, spoke at length about the industry and current state of affairs and enthralled the audience with anecdotes about his father and his more illustrious grandfather. The other key guests, industry’s top brass, present at show were: Dev Nair, president, AIFMP, KS Khurana, president, IPAMA and Dr NC Saha from the Institute of Indian Packaging.
“The telecast of sixth edition of PrintWeek India Awards will feature the brightest of Indian print industry on a main stream national media channel. It is an attempt of creating awareness and promoting Indian print on a wider platform,” said Suresh Ramakrishnan, publishing director at Haymarket Media India, the publisher of PrintWeek India.
