Proteck crosses 300 mark for its cutting machines
Chennai-based Proteck Circuits and Systems has crossed the 300 installation mark for its paper cutting machine installation base. It took 18 years for the company to reach this figure since the first paper cutting machine was launched in 1995.

The major part of the total installed machines is in the south region (180 machines) remaining in other parts of the country. The company has also exported equipment but the number of machines is still low compared to its domestic figures.
Earlier the company used to produce six-models - PC 115S, PC 115/PE 115, PC 92/PE 92, all of them full hydraulic and MC 115, single arm type mechanical type. But now, the company has completely shifted to double arm fly wheel mechanism which is superioir technology in the guillotin segment with four new models of XC series sheet size of 37, 45, 54 and 62 inches.
“Proteck cutting machines are made to meet world quality standards. We have developed our own electronic control panel with innovative cutting algorithms that can quickly prepare a job for production,” said Kartik Iyer, director, Proteck.
The paper cutting machine now have double arm fly wheel mechanism, hydraulic clutch and trendy touch panel for easy operation.
Many customers are having more than one Proteck guillotins installed in their premise.
“Customer demand is for a cutting system, that is, to get a complete solution for their finishing needs for which we offer a full range of cutting systems with productivity enhancers like jogger/pile lifter and unloader,” shared Iyer.
Recently, the company recorded a total of 40 installations of their indigenous paper cutting machines XC-116/137 alone. The company also recently announced its paper cutting system that includes the guillotine, jogger and pile lifter along with a series of new sizes.
“The company’s current and future strategy is to cater to the wider gamut of post-press equipment, which covers both the offset and digital printing space and our cutting machine along with its partnership with Horizon for a range of post press equipment includes collators, folding machines, booklet makers, perfect binding machines. We have started the promoting paper counting machines from UCHIDA brand from Japan and we expect it to be of very useful to many printers,” concluded Iyer.
