Proteck targets the e-commerce and digital segment

Proteck Machinery, distributor of post-press machines from Horizon, highlighted the RD 405 a rotary die-cutter and Smart Finishing Solution which has folding, stitching, binding and sheet processing system, to cater to the e-commerce and digital segments respectively.

“The e-commerce and the digital segment have a lot of growth potential and that is where the future lies. We wanted to invest in the machines that cater to these segments,” said Omprakash H R, general manager, Proteck Machinery.
 
Omprakash explained, “In the e-commerce industry, if a customer orders for a single book, the publisher has to get a single copy printed. With the help of this finishing solution, the machine can bind a single book as wel as multiple books from different authors, as per the requirement.”
 
He added, “This machine offers the total post-press solution for the e-commerce industry.”
 
Natsuhiko Yamada, manager, Horizon, said, “Horizon has been a pioneer in inventing various technologies. The finishing solution system works on a JDF (Job defining file) platform developed by Horizon, which connects each machine through the main server. ”
 
The binding machine has been installed at Bhiwandi-based Repro. 
 
The rotary die-cutter is targeted at the digital and textile industry. Flexi dies are used in such rotary die-cut machine and can be sourced locally. The machine has been installed in Bangladesh, where it is put to use for manufacturing tags for shirts.
