Pune Press Owners Association celebrates 93rd anniversary

The Pune Press Owners Association (PPOA), established in 1919, celebrated its 93rd anniversary on 11 August (Saturday) at Lokmanya Sabhagruha, Pune.

The programme was chaired by Prof Dr Rajendrakumar Anayath, head of Print Media Academy and the chief guests for the function were Shingo Nishikaze, chairman, Toyo Ink India and Takashi Imaizumi, director, Toyo Ink India. The speakers from Toyo Ink explained the developments in the ink technology while Dr Anayath spoke on future of offset.

PPOA has collaborated with Toyo Ink for the bulk supply of inks to the association. Ravindra Joshi, president, PPOA, said, "The collaboration has benefitted the printers as we get ink in bulk and then distribute it to the members according to the requirement."

"In order to encourage the involvement of women in printing industry we honoured the successful women working in the industry with Yashaswini Award," Joshi added.

PPOA honoured Rajaninath Bagaithkar, a senior association member for completing 75 years of age. Also PPOA, with an alliance with CIDBI bank, has arranged for short-term loans for the printers to support them financially.

The programme which was a part of annual get-together of PPOA, was attended by 100 printers.
