Pune to host Adoptech conference in August
The Poona Press Owners Association (PPOA) has announced the date for the second edition of Adoptech 2024. The full-day technical conference will be hosted at Hotel Sheraton Grand in Pune on 24 August 2024.

Themed, Innovating tradition: navigating technology adoption in print, this year’s conference packs a lot of information into the day – from discussing modern technologies to how to combine these technologies with traditional print mediums for print and packaging organisations.
The conference will feature keynote addresses by SN Venkatraman, SBU chief of ITC Packaging & Printing Business. Other highlights will include panel discussions on two themes.
The first one is Big Ideas at Drupa – What Next for India?. The panelists are A Appadurai, country manager, HP Indigo and Inkjet presses, India and Srilanka; Katsuhisa (Kurt) Asari, managing director, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India; Venugopal Menon, zone business director BU Printing Converting - Indian subcontinent, Bobst India; and Samir Patkar, president, Heidelberg India.
The second panel discussion will be Make in India Superstars @ Drupa and will feature panellists – CN Ashok, managing director – Autoprint Machinery; Datta Deshpande, founder and president, Pratham Technologies; P Sajith, managing director, Bindwel Technologies; Ranesh Bajaj, managing director, Vinsak Group; and Amit Khurana, chief executive officer, TechNova Imaging Systems.
Ramu Ramanathan, editor of WhatPackaging? and PrintWeek magazines, will moderate both panel discussions. The magazines are Adoptech's official media partners.
Besides, there will be a session on finance management titled – Romancing the balance sheet by chartered accountant Dr Anil Lamba and another session by Priya Kumar – the motivational speaker and inspirational author in India, titled Dream: dare: deliver.
As per a press note issued by PPOA, "India's print industry is poised for significant growth, with projections from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) indicating that the nation may become the fifth-largest consumer market globally. This growth is attributed to increased e-commerce, urbanisation, and heightened personal health awareness, necessitating print and packaging solutions advancements." To address these opportunities and challenges, Adoptech 2024 will explore how technological innovations can streamline print processes, tackle supply chain challenges, and enhance sustainability within the industry.
The PPOA was established in 1919, focusing on education and support for print professionals. Adoptech 2024 seeks to empower stakeholders with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate technology adoption, ensuring the print industry’s relevance in an increasingly digital landscape.
