ColorConsulting — nominated as colour experts on the ISO TC130 working group —is well-positioned to manage sales, onsite training, and service with QuadTech’s ColorTrack dealers, and can draw upon years of experience helping packaging companies, dealers and ink manufacturers work together to resolve colour issues.

Multinational companies benefit by having a single source of accountability to manage all colour processes across their platform, while still gaining the advantages of local language support and understanding of unique regional workflow practices.

QuadTech and ColorConsulting are actively seeking to add more local packaging industry dealers with colour workflow expertise to their network of authorised dealers. The dealers will be trained on QuadTech’s ColorTrack software and InkWeigh weighing solution, and have the benefit of ColorConsulting’s connections to ink manufacturers.

ColorTrack is a unique colour management software for flexo and gravure packaging applications, and a highly adaptive ‘colour expert in a box’ solution for packaging printers. With a variety of options for hand-held and inline configurations, the software facilitates fast, accurate press-side correction of ink formulations. Without any hardware modifications to the press, ColorTrack automates the process of delivering absolute consistency from press-to-press, shift-to-shift, and plant-to-plant. Variation caused by differing individual skills in managing colour and inks can be virtually eliminated. Since its introduction at Drupa 2016, ColorTrack has been embraced by OEMs and ink manufacturers worldwide.

With InkWeigh, press operators can view and weigh ink recipes received from the formulation software to easily make press-side corrections. InkWeigh’s History Module stores correction information to achieve better colour on the first blend the next time the same recipe is needed. Besides more efficient production, the stored data helps to limit liability, and gives printers the ability to organize and re-use leftover ink inventory—significantly reducing ink costs and storage space.

“For the past two years, we have leveraged ColorConsulting’s expertise and thorough understanding of color management challenges as we introduced ColorTrack to the market,” said QuadTech President Karl Fritchen. “With the growing enthusiasm for ColorTrack, and rapidly expanding global network of authorized dealers, it only makes sense for us to turn to a trusted partner. I can think of no one more qualified to help get packaging printers up and running smoothly with our colour management workflow solutions.”

Carlo Carnelli, General Manager of ColorConsulting added, “Today, ColorTrack is a well-known product in the packaging industry, and it is necessary to have a global network of dealers that can meet the demand by bringing new exciting colour technology to the industry. ColorConsulting will train and support these colour experts to greatly improve the color workflow of packaging companies."
