Quality control seminar in Chennai by SquareDots

Chennai-based SquareDots India had organised a quality control seminar for 100 students of the Anna University in Chennai last month. After this, the seminar series was hosted by Heidelberg India in Delhi and The Times of India in Mumbai.

The guest speaker for the Chennai seminar was Albin Baranauskas, the managing director of Techkon GmbH, Germany. Techkon GmbH is a manufacturer of opto-electronic measuring devices and they are the supplier of densitometers, colour measurement systems and software solutions for applications in pre-press and print.
 
According to E Neelankandan, director, SquareDots India, "“The aim of organising the seminar was to share knowledge about measuring instruments and providing insights about quality control. The modern colour measuring instruments have been helpful and recently, we have launched the new SpectroJet with LED technology,” he said.
 
He added, “This was our first seminar on quality control. We feel it is important to share knowledge among students about quality control and measuring tools. This would be useful for the students, while they start their journey in the printing industry.”
 
He said, “Apart from sales and technical support, SuqareDots also offers local service support for Techkon products, as part of the new operation. In terms of growth, our company has been growing in double digits every year and Techkon is one of the suppliers of colour measuring to press manufacturers. We also supply customised products to KBA, Manroland, Komori and Ryobi.”
 
“For OEM products, we manufacture solutions for colour measuring instrument. We deliver products to more than 85 countries and there has been growth of 10% every year. As per the new ISO print standards, it will be effective and there would be demand for new measuring technology while the older equipments have been replaced. Knowledge about quality control is an essential part of the operation to control the processes in print and to maintain the quality and cost upto certain level,” he added.
 
SquareDots will be exhibiting at Drupa 2016. The company will be showcasing a new generation of colour measuring instruments and quality control.
