Quark extends special upgrade offers to Adobe and Corel suit users in India

With this move, Quark would aim to gain an edge over its competitor by offering an upgrade to QuarkXPress without getting entangled in the subscription based cloud model.

Reetinder Singh, regional sales manager, Quark India said, “The new special offer is directed to organisations large and small who prefer not to be locked into cloud-based software rental. Designers now have an affordable option for moving to QuarkXPress 10, which is sold as perpetual licenses with no requirement for ongoing payments,” added Singh.

QuarkXPress is a graphic design and page layout software used by millions of designers around the world. QuarkXPress 10 comes with a new Xenon Graphics Engine which renders rich PDF’s, photo-shop and TIFF images and uses its adaptive resolution feature to deliver the most appropriate on-screen resolution in real-time. The HiDPI and Retina support feature for high resolution display and over fifty new and enhanced page layout features like PDF pass-through transparency, print preview, bezier tool enhancement, layers enhancements.

Since the launch of the cloud-based subscription model from Adobe, the industry has been debating the various pros and cons of the model. Recently, the Offset Printers’ Association of Ludhiana had registered its protest over the letters sent to its members by Adobe that asked for proof of purchase. The association had then stated that it was difficult for every organisation to keep the proof of purchase.

However, the special offer for QuarkXPress 10 can be availed by the customers by providing a proof of ownership of InDesign, PageMaker or Corel Draw by submitting the serial number, invoice or license certificate.
