Ashish Vazirani, managing director at Rachna Prints, said, “We were among the first ones to move into VLF printing business especially in Vasai. We cater to 100% job work. Today, we cater to more than 400 large format offset printing firms who require print in VLF.”

In 2005, Rachna Prints invested in Roland Ultra 5, 36 inch x 50 inch four-colour press and in 2006, the company invested in Roland Ultra 6, 40 inch x 56 inch two-colour press at its 5,000sq/ft unit.

Vazirani said, “It was a challenge for us initially because we required the jobs which suited these two presses and catering to packaging and corrugation industry was only the way to go. In order to support these presses, we had to invest in our in-house conventional plate making system along with the graining and plate backing machine.”

Speaking about the growth, Vazirani said, “We see huge potential for growth in corrugation and packaging printing business as the requirement of quality packaging products and corrugation boxes is growing.”

Meanwhile, Rachna Prints started a pre-press bureau with an investment in a Kodak Trendsetter 1600, a very large format (VLF) CTP platesetter, to cater to the VLF printing market in Western region. This is the first VLF platesetter in the western region installed at a print hub at Bhumi World, Bhiwandi near Mumbai.
