Raju will head a 15-member executive committee of the association, which is a Mumbai based apex body of printing ink manufacturers and ancillaries in India. . The aim of the association is to institute, finance, develop and carry on all kinds of scientific and economic research related to printing, to encourage fair trade practices and to promote healthy competition among printing ink industry.
Raju takes over from BS Kampani, outgoing president and managing director, Toyo Ink India.
No stranger to the role, Raju was the president of AIPIMA 12 years ago and it is a position that he’s looking forward to once again. In an interaction with PrintWeek India in Hyderabad recently, Raju said that he’s delighted to be taking up the role of president.
He said, “Though the printing inks in terms of volume and value are increasing the average price over the years has remained stagnant. There are other constraints like raw material supply and cost, affordable machinery, logistics of delivery, etc that’s hampering the progress of the small and medium ink enterprises, whose numbers are dwindling. We need to explore ways by which these companies can make a positive difference to the print industry,”
AIPIMA’s flagship event, Asia Coat + Ink Show will be held from 7-9 December, 2012 in Mumbai. The show will bring together exhibitors and visitors from different parts of India and other countries. “With international conference, seminars, conferences and round table discussions, we aim to make this an enriching experience for all the participants,” said Raju.
