R Rajesh Kumar, creative head at 38 Hundred Labels & Prints, said, “India being one of the biggest consumer markets in the world, we see a huge growth potential for label printing. We selected the Colordyne equipment primarily for the production of high quality premium labels. This unit will be the first of the network of sites addressing the prime industrial label space across India.”

The Colordyne 1600 PC Sprint is a high-speed digital colour printing system that prints at the speed of 160 feet per minute or 49 metres per minute with 1600x1200dpi resolution. This digital press has four Memjet print heads, one for each colour. Each print head has 70,400 nozzles integrated into four interchangeable ink delivery blades. A fifth blade and print head can be added for a spot colour.

Besides Colordyne 1600 PC Sprint, the digital label printing firm has also invested in finishing equipment GT 364 HS from Cartes, Italy. It has separate stations for hot foil stamping, screen printing, embossing, die-cutting and laser cutting. The new unit also houses Ricoh Pro 751 a digital production press

Kumar said, “We chose Cartes GT 364 HSDL because of its precision in quality finishing at higher speeds.”

The GT 364HSDL operates at a speed of 15,000 cycles of die-cutting or hot foil stamping and 7,000 cycles of screen printing per hour. All the individual stations are integrated by technology from Siemens and saves 40 % of energy consumption. The machine also hosts the laser station, that can do full cut, kiss cut, perforation etc of various shapes.

Besides printing, Rajeswari Infrastructure is involved in construction and hospitality business. The company is already in talks with major FMCG and liquor manufacturers for label printing business and is planning for a launch event for its potential customers.
