Launched in 2016, Replika Packaging installed a raft of Zhongke rigid box machines, and its first Bobst Novacut 106 in November 2016.
Soon Replika Packaging became India’s first company to be able to produce 50,000 finished rigid boxes per day. The company’s achievement, Bhuvnesh Seth, managing director of Replika, said, was aided by the Bobst autoplaten technology. “The job of die-cutting rigid box is very demanding since the machine is required to die-cut board of very high gsm and calliper. The Bobst machine is capable of doing all this. That’s the reason, we settled for Bobst in the first place.”
The demand for the premium rigid boxes is driven primarily by the smartphone market. With more and more users of mobile switching to handsets which offer value for money and latest features, there’s a boom in the smartphone market. The made in India campaign is also encouraging smartphone manufacturing companies from the Far East to set up their plants in India, which is expected to further drive the requirement for rigid boxes.
So when Replika needed to enhance its rigid box-making capacity, it relied on the tested Bobst expertise. Seth explained that when it comes to finishing or converting, one should select machines which are reliable, efficient and backed with services which can be relied upon. “In today’s competitive world, if one has to remain ahead of the curve, the only option is to produce and deliver consistent quality and at the same time remain cost-effective.”
He added, “Bobst with its long experience in providing solutions to convert challenging and difficult substrates is ready to support the emerging and demanding needs of rigid box manufacturing and our future packaging needs.”
