Manoj PK, director, Omkar Print Lab invested in a C751 press because of the flexibility and the high production speeds the machine could offer. “The machine not only assists us in high production but also allows us to take up texture paper jobs,” said Manoj.

“We cater to corporate companies who prefer their brochure to be printed on a texture paper and for us the print quality on textured paper on our previous digital machine was not satisfactory. Hence we had to opt for another one,” said Manoj. “C751 was an easy pick since it offered us the texture paper printing capability,” he added.

Ricoh C751 boasts of a high productivity up to 300gsm and broad media support. With the VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser) technology, the machine is capable of achieving a resolution of 4800dpi. The maximum printable area for the machine is 323 x 480mm.

According to Manoj, post the C751 installation, the company has notched up 20% increase in its sales. “We are now able to produce more than 2000 prints a day which is 50% more than what we were doing earlier.”

Omkar’s expertise also lies in signage, branding and plotting. The company’s signage setup consists of a Mimaki and an Allwyn solvent printer. A Ricoh plotter is being used for printing of blueprints. Roughly Omkar produces 30,000 prints in a month.

The company is yet to make a foray into the commercial offset segment. “Currently we outsource our offset jobs but we have plans to expand and setup up an in-house offset press,” he said.
