Ricoh launches Ricoh Pro L4160 at Media Expo 2016

Rioch India launched a new wide-format printer Ricoh Pro L4160 at Media Expo Delhi. According to Prasanna Rajagopalan of Ricoh India, the kit is equipped with latex technology and can print the colours orange, green and white along with CMYK. Another advantage of the machine is that it can print on transparent media.

The printer is equipped with Ricoh generation five printheads and latest patented multi-drop jetting technology. These heads can create a droplet as small as four picoliter. The result is smoother colour gradation with no need of light magenta or cyan.

It is also equipped with durable printing inks, which are suitable for every kind of application. It can match colour gamut of 93% of pantone range. The machine can print a variety of media like films, textiles, vinyl and papers, and POS/POP at an average speed of 18 sqm an hour. There are two versions are available – 54 and 46 inches.

Rajagopalan said the USP of the machine is the white ink option. He added that though Ricoh is new in the signage business, it has its present in industrial design segment. Most of its customers are from outdoor signage printing industry. So far, the company has installed ten machines.

Talking about the market trend, Rajagopalan said people are exploring something new whether it is application or media. Neon sign, backlit and transparent media printing are in demand.

It is roll-to-roll and roll-to-sheet printer and produces print on 1200 dpi.
