TN Sodhi migrated from Narowal in Pakistan to India post-Partition in 1947. He started his career at a young age in 1952 with the setting up of a bindery shop with his younger brother. He executed job work for Atmaram & Sons, a publishing house in Delhi.
In 1967 he diversified to manufacture Chandler letterpress printing machines as the proprietor of Sodhisons Mechanical Works, and in 1974 he started the production of Victorian-type die-cutting machines.
He was soon joined by his three sons, Rajesh Sodhi, Rakesh Sodhi and Kamal Sodhi in 1980, 1981 and 1982 respectively. Under his able leadership and guidance, they demonstrated success with his extensive experience.
Today, his great legacy is fostered by his sons with the import of used offset printing machines, bindery and packaging machines and the import of new paper converting and post-press machines.
Sodhi was a hard-working, disciplined, generous, religious and family person. He knew his priorities and always stayed calm, no matter what. And when faced with failure, he bounced back with the spirit of a true champion. No matter how much success he achieved, it never went over his head.
“His teachings on how to live with joy, patience and purpose remain imprinted on our hearts. Though he has departed this world of men, the wisdom planted within our souls by the man who raised us will guide us for all days. His simplest lessons — a kind word, an encouraging smile, the gratitude found in little things — shaped our moral compass more than he knew,” his sons said.
