RIPTAA conduct their annual summit with highlights on green printing and digital
The Regional Institute of Printing Technology Alumni Association, Jadavpur (RIPTAA) celebrated their 31st Annual Summit and Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 15 August 2016.

Since, its inception the annual program has been traditionally celebrated at Jadavpur University Campus or at its alma mater Regional Institute of Printing Technology (RIPT) but this year the organising committee was compelled to shift its venue to Swabhumi, The Heritage Plaza off E M Bypass, Kolkata to accommodate a 500 plus strong members and around fifty delegates across India.
The key note address was given by Sanat Hazra, technical and production director, Times of India which was followed by a panel discussion on ‘Transformation of Print and Packaging heading towards Green and Digital’. The participants in this session were Alok Hazarika, zonal sales manager, Konica Minolta India, Amitava Chakraborty, senior sales manager, Huber Group, Biswajit Bhattacharjee, general manager of marketing, Technova Imaging Systems, Kamal Chopra, vice president of AIFMP and Nandini Chowdhury, chief technical manager, DIC. Professor Dr Rajendra Kumar Anayath, director at The Technological Institute of Textile & Sciences, Bhiwani was the moderator for the session.
According to the press release from the organisers, ‘The overwhelming consensus of the need for transformation and the challenge to make this world pollution free was acknowledged. The speakers also emphasised that today’s printing technology is gradually embracing green, environment friendly methods and practices. These practices combine sustainability with the printing methodology using pulp based stock, eco-friendly chemicals and ink.’
The program was supported by Konica Minolta India, Tata Teleservice, Huber Group, DIC.
The daylong event also saw the formation of the the new executive body for the year 2016-18 take place during the AGM which was presided by Surendra B Dhote, president of the association.
