New Roland 700 press Evolution is launched

Neeraj Dargan, who has recently been appointed as head of the Indian operations of Manroland sheetfed informed PrintWeek India that the German manufacturer has launched its first brand-new printing press in four years with a new version of the Roland 700.

According to a company communication, the new press, branded Evolution, was unveiled at Manroland's Sheetfed German production centre, and while technical specifications are not yet available.

The company says the Evolution press has taken all the best features of the Roland 700 HS and DD models and made one machine in an all-new design built from the ground up.

Dargan who is looking to re-constitute the Manroland Sheetfed team in India said, "The new Roland 700 Evolution represents a milestone in the Manroland journey." It is the first new press since the company was separated into separate sheetfed and webfed operations.

Features Manroland Sheetfed will discuss include nine new technological developments aimed at improving efficiency, productivity, operation and quality, while saving on production costs.

"From the DD comes the multitasking features of operations done in parallel and from the HS comes the feeder, delivery and dampening system," the company stated.

"It also has a new operating console and a simple interactive operating system with a mobile app using QR codes so you can see your press and production when you're on the move."

According to Dargan, Manroland Sheetfed  is restructuring its commercial sheetfed operations with the aim of creating a stronger focus on service and maintenance and engineering products.

When the PrintWeek India team visited the temporary office in Naraina, a young team has been established to spearhead these initiatives. Dargan hopes to have full representation across India by early next year.

"We are not moving away from our core markets," said Dargan. "In fact, we are strengthening our team and its approach. Customers have been telling us for a long time that Manroland Sheetfed is the best technology in the business. What they want is a business partner who can offer tech support, show them new products, add value through services and by delivering solutions, & we aspire to have a customer service team that delivers, always."
