Both the machines have been installed in November 2019 at the company’s unit in Kandivali, Mumbai.
Dhaval Dalal, CEO, Ruby Print-N-Pack said, “A major reason to opt for the Komori Lithrone Super LS 529 (H) is that it has the capacity to produce, both, commercial and packaging jobs, due to its 20x29-inch size. Also, it can print from 50-500 gsm paper/board, while, with the other machines that I had surveyed, we could only print maximum 360 gsm, in this machine category.”
The Komori Lithrone Super LS 529 (H) press boasts of a speed of up to 18,000 sheets per hour. Dalal claims that there are rarely /very few machines in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai region who have installed the Komori Lithrone Super LS 529 five-colour kit, with a fully automatic plate changing feature. The company has also invested in an Agfa Acento II S thermal CTP machine.
The commercial printing specialist already houses a single-colour Swift offset machine, two-colour Heidelberg Sormz machine, four-colour Komori (Sprint), and a Konica Minolta digital printer (Konica Minolta C 6501); along with other post-press machineries.
Dalal said, “With my previous setup, the job make-ready time including washing and plate changing was very time consuming; now the entire setup is ready in 20 minutes. Earlier, we produced close to five to seven jobs in an 8-10 hour shift. Now, I have the capacity to produce 20-25 jobs in a single shift.”
The company caters to educational institute such as Thakur Education Group and brands such as Parakh Agro and Cargill India, among others. It also offers unique solutions such as scratch card printing, “Such solutions help us provide value-addition to packaging jobs and cater to the trends in the eCommerce industry,” said Dalal.
Ruby Print -N- Pack also provides multi-language printing with the employment of Akruti software. In addition, the company has tied-up directly to the paper dealers of companies such as JK Mills, ITC and so on, in order to garner a higher quality of paper and boost just-in-time delivery.
“With the new installation, we look forward to manufacture box packaging jobs and also cater to the pharmaceutical industry. Our company is ISO 9001:2008 certified and we have carried out the mandatory audits and incorporated the safety measures so that we are eligible to cater to the pharmaceutical packaging sector,” added Dalal.
The company uses PDC-SII Print Density Control – Spectrophotometer, which scans and corrects the colour-matching requirements automatically. “When we tested the Komori machine with our pre-press systems, in just few prints itself we saw sharp and clear drops, In addition, we use chemical-free plates for sharper quality and more importantly to contribute to our sustainability initiatives.”
The company is currently using its two-colour Heidelberg Sormz kit for varnishing jobs. “We will be investing on a UV machine and other post-press equipments to provide value-addition to our printed packages, so that we can cater to the out-and-out requirements of the industry,” he concluded.
