Ryobi did not name the companies for obvious reasons but informed that one printer in West India, one in South and two in the Northern region of India have booked the four presses. These printers picked up a six-colour+coater Ryobi 790 series, two picked up the four-colour Ryobi 920 series, with one picking up a 2x2 perfector 920 series.
Provin Technos managing director Vinay Kaushal, who facilitated the sales, said, “Ryobi presses give good value for money with the USPs being its small footprint and lesser power requirement. When you compare this 36-inch press with the 40-inch press, the different in the plate size is around 35%, which is the amount of operational cost that is reduced, increasing profitability.”
At Drupa, Ryobi presented the eight-colour perfector RMGT 920 series machine with two LED, one each after every four towers. Kaushal claimed, it is Ryobi’s most popular machine with 38 machines installed worldwide.
New on the 920 perfector press are the two inspection cameras mounted on top after the fourth and eighth tower as well as an inbuilt colour management system capable of detecting defects of up to 0.5x0.5mm. Kaushal said, “Ryobi believes in bringing productivity and quality to the table, just as much as reducing waste.”
Ryobi also unveiled its new B2-sized liquid-toner based digital offset press – RMGT DP7. The combination press has an offset-like mechanism of transfer with sheet transfer aided by a gripper. The three-cylinder press runs can run at 8,000sph and claims to deliver high-quality printing at 1,200x1,200dpi on a sheet thickness from 0.05mm to 0.4mm. “It not only enables commercial printing, but also carton and packaging printing.”
Kaushal informed that Ryobi is working on finer nuances of the press, and will be ready for a 2017 launch.
