Sai Vardhan, a new entrant in the digital printing business is managed by Srinivas Babu and Venkateshwara Rao. Sai Vardhan opened its facility a year ago with the Scodix S75. The Duplo 616 was installed a little while after they installed South Asia's first and one of its kind Scodix S75+ rainbow, print enhancement equipment in March 2014.
Sai specialises in printing of business cards, wedding invitations, brochures and menu cards.
Explaining why the firm opted for a Duplo kit, Srinivas Babu, a doctorate in micro-electronics, said, “The embellishment done on the printed sheet using the Scodix was immaculate, but we faced issues when we had to cut the sheets using a conventional cutting machine. The pressure the conventional cutting machine applied on the sheet used to mess up the Scodix effect.”
Babu added, "As a solution, we opted for the Duplo DC 616. This has a slitter cutting process which keeps the Scodix effect on the print intact."
Apart from the Scodix, Sai has a Konica Minolta Bizhub Press C70hc digital printing press for its print needs. Sai claims it is a Scodix-centric company. “About 80% of our business is on the Scodix,” concluded Babu.
