Samir Patkar as managing director to head Heidelberg India

Announcing the new appointment, Thomas Frank, managing director at Heidelberg Asia Pacific, said, Patkar will take charge of the managerial duties and responsibilities from Neilsen with effect from 16 October 2018. Frank thanked Neilsen for his contribution and leadership in the past years. “During his tenure, he made several achievements to the company and expanded the business in many areas.”

Patkar, who has more than two decades of experience in the graphic arts industry, has been a part of the Heidelberg group since 2001, with experience in driving the Indian and Asia Pacific Gallus business. In 2006, Patkar was made the business head for Gallus label presses for Indian operation. He also held the role of the business head for consumables in Heidelberg India in 2008, before he became the managing director of Gallus India in 2011. In 2016, Patkar assumed the role of regional sales head for the Asia Pacific region of Gallus business under Heidelberg Group.

Gallus has over 125 installations of its flexo presses in India, a major chunk of installations driven by Patkar.

Patkar will be operating from Heidelberg's Mumbai office located in Andheri East.
