Ranesh Bajaj, managing director, Creed Engineers, which represents Schober in India, said, “In-mould labels can be of odd shapes, plus they have inherent static charge, it becomes a challenging task to stack these labels at the end of the line. The system consists of two parts. In the first part, the rotary die-cutting module die-cuts the printed label using the standard magnetic cylinder and flexible dies and in the second part robotic arms pick and place individual labels to make stacks for use by moulders.”

The RSM Digi Varicut is designed specifically for the digitally printed labels. It boasts of short makeready time as one magnetic cylinder can be deployed for different printing repeats. It enables heavy nesting of product combinations in a single sheet.

Bajaj explains, “The equipment is designed to pile up different types of products combined within the same printing image. The product layout can be heavily nested or can be a combination of very long and small products. These exchangeable products specific pick-up plates take up products at synchronised high speed and stack them non-stop into a dual piling cassette system.”
