The Seekho aur Samjho workshop devised by BMPA in partnership with PrintWeek India, SIES Graduate School of Technology, Navi Mumbai, and Government Institute of Printing Technology (GIPT), Mumbai, will continue the second series of the workshop for educating the shopfloor personnel and operators in 2016.

On 16 January 2016, GIPT institute in Mumbai will host the first seminar of the new year touching upon safety. The session will be conducted by TechNova’s Pradip Ghaisas.

During the three-hour session in Hindi, Ghaisas will cover key safety aspects pertaining to the printing industry and how hazards associated with printing and allied activities can be controlled.

Ghaisas, said, “The aim behind this session is to initiate a safety drive in an organisation with a clear objective to reduce accidents at workplaces and to make printing press a safer place to work at.”

“There is a lack of investment in training of the workforce. It definitely affects productivity. Also, there is no platform for education and skill upgradation of the staff. These monthly training sessions offer a great opportunity for employers to promote learning for their employees,” said Faheem Agboatwala, president, BMPA.

Started in January 2015, the sessions, which were conducted in Hindi, saw the participation of more than 50 shopfloor personnel and 50 printing students.

The available 50 seats will be registered on first come, first serve basis – two registrations per company.
