Balancing user requirements and compliance regulations while designing pharmaceutical packaging is always a challenge."
Albea’s managing director Lester Pinto will deliver the plenary address. Albea India has plants in Goa and Baddi which have three manufacturing activities – printing, tube making and moulding of components for tubes and CRP. Pinto shared, "Though, both tubes and CRP used to be manufactured in Goa, right now, it only manufactures round tubes, while the Baddi plant makes round and oval tubes and also manufactures CRP."
The ink stalwarts on Day Three are Jatin Thakker, Head PSR, Siegwerk India; Gaurav Sathaye, Director, United Inks; Akil Contractor, Director, Print Dynamics; B Bhaskaran, Director-technical, Spico Printing Inks and Rajesh Gandhi, Vice president, Fujifilm Sericol. Each of them has a unique product offering. "An absolute must-attend session."
InkWeek is a week-long webinar - from 21 to 25 March - which will see a mix of conversations and technology plus product presentations by more than 30 industry specialists and ink experts.
Noel D'cunha, managing editor of PrintWeek and WhatPackaging said, "Day Three has been designed for anyone and everyone who is interested in new ideas and latest innovations." He said, "A print firm in Gujarat worked with unique special application inks (a special ink for tamper-evident application). This ink is being deployed by Amazon. Apparently only two manufacturers in the world are doing this. If you want to learn more about how this ink created an impact, then you must attend Day Three."
D'cunha added, "We met someone in Chennai who specialises in marking inks for engine cylinders. This is a highly resistant inks specially developed by an Indian ink company. Huge benefits as an import substitution product. Now this MSME unit is exporting (50%) to Sri Lanka, Nepal, UAE, Qatar and a few African countries. Once again, if you want to learn more about how this ink created its magic, then you must attend the session of Day Three."
D'cunha concluded, Today, many commercial print firms are seeking a solution in terms of what next? There is a good option in direct printing on garment and for transfer printing. Pre-pandemic I met DTG print firms who cater to brands like Nike, C&A, Tesco, H&M, M&S, Tomy, GAP, Walmart, Carry4 etc PLUS the Surat market. For print firms the system is quite straightforward. One has to get a GOTS and Oeko Tex certificate for this product. And promise to produce environmentally friendly and biodegradable sustainable products. Again, if you want to know more about all this, do attend the session of Day Three."
PrintWeek and WhatPackaging magazines along with Siegwerk India and Hubergroup India are the hosts for InkWeek.
