Noida-based Sheth Printograph organised live demonstration of two models of its Daya brand of lamination machines – Octa 2S and Nano digital double side thermal laminating machines for digital photographic prints at recently held Consumer Electronic Imaging Fair (CEIF) Fair 2013 in New Delhi.
“We used various films such as super gloss polyester, silky matt, velvet finish to laminate upon various media like non-tearable, lenticular sheets, nivea, etc. Sample trial runs for visitors was also conducted,” said Sonal Sheth, director, Sheth Printograph.
The company launched the Nano 15inch laminating machine at the show. “Small is the concept of customers here. We launched new model of Nano with cutter option for polyester film to cater to print size upto 12x19inch suitable for all digital photographic prints. This launch was especially need of the industry and introduced on popular demand of existing and potential customers."
According to Sheth, with latest technology in print, various media/ substrates are now being used, and hence we modify our machines to suit the new developmentds. "Lot of finishes are now being done online printing machine like embossing, glittering, 3D printing on lenticular sheets, non-tearable sheets, transparent sheets etc. But we are proud to say, our machine can laminate on all these substrates with any type of digital printing method."
Speaking about the response from the show, Sheth said, “We successfully closed deals with both new and old repeat customers.”
Sheth has installations at Manipal Technologies, Manipal; Kay Dee Color Lab, Lucknow; Ambey Enterprises, Raipur; Dulari Digital Photo, Ludhiana; Gee7 Printek, Ludhiana; Rajneesh Photo, Chandigarh to name a few.
Sheth Printograph has been serving the offset industry since the past 50 years, but the company forayed into photographic industry is 2009.
"We never imagined application of thermal lamination in photographic industry. It has opened up a new segment for our products. Today we are leading with installations with almost all top digital photo colour labs in India. Indian wedding industry is huge and its ever growing.
“India is a mass market. Wherever, volumes are required, Indian customer still prefers offset for the reason of cost. But digital is picking up like in photographic, variable data, commercial personalised prints, premium packaging, " said Sheth.
"Photo Printing industry is growing owing to larger spends on wedding. Hence, in future we will see increased demand, larger print sizes, more options of media, more applications."
