The masters of gravure and PrintWeek India Pre-Press Company of the Year 2014, Ahmedabad-based Shilp Gravures has installed Esko’s Full HD Flexo solution, which is a combination of inline UV2 technology on its CDI 4260 digital flexo imager and special screening.

“We have been operating in gravure space for last 25 years. As the flexo technology has evolved, we see our customers looking at flexography as an alternative to gravure, said Gajanan Bhavsar, marketing director, Shilp. “The HD Flexo from Esko helps us achieve both flat top and round top dots in the same flexographic plate, with results close to offset and gravure quality.”
In 2009, Shilp acquired a flexo trade shop to enter into the flexography segment.
Srihari Rao of Esko said Shilp was amongst the earliest to invest in Esko software products, such as Flexo Tools and HD Flexo imaging in 2012. “With this investment, Shilp will be able to provide plates that can produce smooth vignettes, highlights and shadows to packaging and label printers and converters,” Rao added.
The company has also invested in Degraf 405 DW plate processor from Glunz & Jensen with double hydraulic and solvent tank system for processing of all kinds of digitally imaged photopolymer plates.
