Shivam Graphics which was founded by Lalji Raghavji Ravaria has earned a reputation for all types of commercial printing including brochures, visiting cards, books on demand, print on demand, labels and corporate gifting.

As Vipul Bechra Vaviya who helms ops at Shivam said, "We target all types of retail and corporate work. The outreach is in between Borivali to Bandra but we do work pan-India."

The Shivam factory is housed in a 3500 sq/ft. A visitor to the print shop is treated to a pizza or a burger and at times wada pav and sev puri.

Vipul Vaviya said the USP of the press with a turnover of Rs 6 crore is being "The one stop shop for all kinds of short run commercial print giving quality work in time. Work on the customers’ feedback and make continuous improvement." The monthly peak volume at Shivam is two lakhs A3 prints per month and the target is three lakhs A3 prints per month.

The SigLoch 500 has boosted the post-press quotient at Shivam.  The book that was created was Shakti. These were 200 books for the Ministry of Defence, Naval Headquarters, South Block, New Delhi.

Ajay Nagar of Bindwel said, "Shivam is one of the leading digital print firms in Goregaon with the best of digital press and post-press setup. In addition to a solid post-press department, thanks to the SigLoch 500, Shivam offers quality and consistency."

Vaviya said, "The SigLoch 500 from Bindwel has helped me deliver quality book binding in the fastest possible time. It has helped me explore all kinds of books for short-run." He added, "I am extremely satisfied with the technical support from Bindwel."

One book that Shivam Graphics would like to boast about are the books for Bellwether & Alphakids Schools from Alphakids in Mumbai. The team at Shivam Graphics are proud of the 10,000 books of Lilacharitra: A religious book for the Savagya Samaj Prabhodan Sanstha.

Vaviya shared the highlights of the 1500 foldable table calendar with a small diary, 1,700 diaries, and 600 wall calendars which was conceptualised, printed, finished and delivered within five days in December 2023 for ISSGF (Integrated Service Solutions Global Forwarding India) in Airoli.

Today, Shivam has an impressive roster of customers like Flair Pens, ISSGF India, Oro Jewelers, Hare Krishna Jewellers, MSCI< BVC Logistics, Leap India, MCON, Naik Wealth Pioneers, Kabra Group of Builders, Shivani Spice, The Laxmi Group, Goregaon, Vivek Vidyalaya & Junior College.

When asked what is the challenge with digital print in a city like Mumbai, Vipul Bechra Vaviya said, "A major challenge with digital print is to match colours with that of offset print." He added, "One more challenge is the front and back registration. This is not perfect with digital print."

He added, "There are other challenges like urgency of job, space constraint and skilled labour requirement." He said, "However, urgency in each job and completing the job in a short time, sometimes during odd hours, is the headache that digital printers face in a city like Mumbai."

In this sense, the SigLoch investment helps to resolve the conundrum. Vaviya said, "Shivam Graphics gets orders for 100-200 books per job for digital print. To bind those books and finish them in time and deliver top quality binding was a challenge. The SigLoch investment offers the flexibility of quality book binding in the stipulated time. So this is one case where we definitely match the 'offset-quality' (In binding)."

Vipul Bechra Vaviya said "In five years’ time I aim to make my turnover of Rs six crore into Rs 30 crore at least." To achieve this, Vaviya and his Shivam team follow a simple digital print mantra. This is: "Saying NO to our customer does not exist in our dictionary. At Shivam Graphics, we aim to complete every job that a customer demands."
