The primary focus of the meet was to introduce the Shuttleworth users to the new features with the MIS system. “The goal of the meet was to show new features and understand the problems of the users in India and solve their difficulties and also to concentrate on India specific modifications,” said King.

One such new feature which King explained was the mobile CRM and stock system. The mobile CRM and stock system recently launched at Ipex 2014, is designed to improve warehouse stock accuracy by allowing users to identify job numbersthrough barcode, share information with the warehouse and update transactions in real-time using mobile devices rather than printed lists.

“This gives people a lot more flexibility and allows the users to keep on top of activity and data while they are off-site,” said King.

The mobile stock system is expected to be off loaded in India in coming months.

Also, King enlightened the users on the management information and dashboard function on the MIS system. “The new dashboard technology produces reports in the form of charts and graphs on the user’s MIS modules such as job, estimating, delivery and stock reports or non-conformance issues and can be viewed remotely on mobile devices,” he said.

Other topics covered during the meet included material management modules, production management and future developments at Shuttleworth.

The event saw a participation figure of 20-25 companies from the packaging, labels and graphic arts industry across India.
