SIES-SOP receives Rutgers’ recognition

The School of Packaging (SOP), set up under the umbrella of South Indian Education Society (SIES), Navi Mumbai, has been granted recognition by packaging engineering department of School of Engineering (SOE), Rutgers University, US.

The recognition has been offered for the 11-months full-time course – post graduate diploma in packaging. The recognition for the revised PG programme was granted in early May 2015.
 
The course. offered by SIES-SOP will be based on credit system. Out of the total credits offered by the institute, 12 credits have been recognised by SOE.  
 
Explaining the purpose of recognition, Dr R Rangaprasad, director of SIES-SOP said, “Apart from the institute, the recognition is beneficial to the students as well. These credits can be transferred by the students pursuing higher studies at Rutgers.”
 
The institute has signed the MOU as a part of its engagement with Rutgers. “We have plans to offer specialised short-term professional courses to be delivered by the visiting faculty for the industry and students alike,” concluded Rangaprasad.
