Satheesh, proprietor of SK Marketing, said, “We started our digital unit with C70. We recently associated with Xerox to increase our production volume. Other brands cannot match Xerox’s media handling and quality output.”
He added, “We went for the Versant 280 for its quality of output, offset-like finish, media versatility and lower gsm sheets. Also, what attracted us to the machine was its strong hardware and workflow solutions. The company engineers have given us adequate training on the same.”
SK Marketing has been manufacturing ID card holders and lanyard clips, photo ID cards and ID cards since 1997.
“75% of our clients are from ID cards. Now, slowly, we are diversifying into digital printing segments and offset short runs,” Satheesh said.
Besides the Versant 280, the company’s 4,000-sqft shopfloor also contains a lamination machine, a cutting machine, and ID card fusing and finishing equipment. The company employs 30 people.
Satheesh said the shortage of labour is one of the major issues plaguing the industry. That is why the company is slowly getting into the Xerox workflow automation, which minimises both pre-press and post-press time-consuming workflows at ease.
He said, “Our experiences have been good with the machine since we have experience of using a Xerox C70 earlier.”
