Skanem India is set to reshape the labelling and machinery sector with the launch of a new facility in Mumbai, a step that signals its plan to expand into new territories while focusing on automation, sustainability, and digital innovation. The plant, a key part of the company’s growth strategy, aims to raise standards in label manufacturing and strengthen its machinery business, offering solutions to brands across the region.
The Mumbai facility will feature high-speed printing and converting technologies. “With smart automation and sustainable production processes, we are setting new industry benchmarks while reducing our carbon footprint,” said Mehzabin Nair, managing director at Skanem India. This focus on eco-friendly practices responds to the growing demand for greener manufacturing, positioning the company as a leader in sustainability efforts.
Beyond label production, Skanem India is expanding its machinery division, which will supply labelling equipment to improve customer productivity and flexibility. “By combining printing technology with application systems, we offer brands a complete solution—from label design to final application,” Nair explained. This approach aims to streamline processes for businesses, helping them adapt to market changes.
The expansion also highlights Skanem’s investment in digitalisation. The addition of smart labels, variable data printing, and personalised packaging solutions will address the needs of a changing market. “Our investment in digitalisation will elevate our offerings, enabling us to meet demands for customisation and innovation,” Nair concluded.
