Speaking to PrintWeek India, H Venkataraman, managing director, Skanem, said, “Initially, the machine will increase our existing capacity and make it double. It will help us offer more options to our customers and increase our profitability and in-house branding.”
Venkataraman said the new machine will replace the existing Indigo machine. The company has been using the existing machine since 2011 to print short-run labels.
The market-leading narrow-web printing solution for digital labels and packaging production, the WS6800 Digital Press delivers high productivity, wide versatility, and intelligent colour automation. The kit can produce up to 131 linear ft/mins in colour. Advanced colour automation and sophisticated colour matching tools make it fast and easy to hit brand colours with extreme accuracy, consistency and repeatability.
The WS6800 can produce any narrow-format label, flexible packaging, sleeve, IML, wrap-around labels or folding cartons job. It supports 12 to 450 micron materials, including standard substrates with inline priming.
“Our association with the label printing company is more than five years. It shows the kind of confidence printers have in our machines. The Indigo is a perfect kit to meet the growing demand for short-run and specialised labels,” A Appadurai, country manager, HP India, said.
