SN Offset Printers opts for Heidelberg SM 52

Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 52 four-color press installed at the unit features a speed-compensated Alcolor dampening system for consistent and print results.

Established in 1984, SN Offset offers complete print solutions from pre-press to post-press, finishing, wide-format printing, digital printing, wide-format jumbo printing, and binding. The installed press is equipped with the autoplate feature for fast plate changes and short make-ready times. An automated feeder with central suction tape helps the press process widest range of substrates ranging from 0.03 to 0.40mm. The Speedmaster SM 52 has production speeds of up to 15,000 sheets per hour.

Sajeevan had little knowledge of printing but circumstances forced him to takeover the binding unit founded by his sister in 1984.

"When I got into the business, I had this strange feeling which you get when you are swimming. You want to feel something solid under your feet. But the water is deeper than you think it is," he said while explaining his initial years in the industry.

When asked about the 90% customer retention rate for his business, he said, "Never refuse any job, no matter what time of the day it arrives and before signing-up a customer, understand his requirements and suggest the optimal solution, which will help him minimise costs and improve quality. This personalised approach has fostered customer loyalty for us."

A major chunk or 90% of Sajeevan's business comes from more than 100 small-scale printers from all over Kerala. About 80% of these orders are online or web-based. SN Printers has installed order-processing software to handle its thriving online business. With the Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 52 at his unit, Sajeevan is now considering future investments in variable data printing (VDP) machines to meet the requirements of a key customer that contributes to 10% of his business.
