The company which supplies stripping dies to TCPL Packaging, Silvassa offers die-making services to printers, print finishers and corrugated packaging companies in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Daman and Silvassa.
Brijesh Naykpura, managing director at Son N Naykpura, said, “A die making takes about 24 hours including rubberising. It also depends on the complexity of the job and mostly we dispatch jobs on the same day.”
Talking about the importance of rubbering, Naykpura, said, “The rubbering is the most important part in cutting dies and the rubbers are not just for ejecting materials but it helps to give proper result and prevent many problems which converters face during punching. The rubbers are more than just an ejector.”
Tips from Naykpura about cutting dies and how it can be effectively used
Proper cutting rule as per application and material
A duplex or corrugation cutting knife is different and for the PET or PP carton cutting and creasing there is a different knife used. One can use the same but result will not be as per the expectation.
Proper rubbering within the die
Using different types of rubber is very important. The rubbers will take more pressure of the punching machine but it can prevent angle hairs, flaps and flaking. If a Bobst machine is running about 8000 sheets/hr it means 2.2 punching strokes per second. For such production, rubber has to be capable of compress and expand during this time.
Selecting proper creasing matrix
The creasing matrix plays an important role in punching and on folder gluer machines. We do receive complaints about fishtailing while pasting, slow running speed of folder gluer, non-performance on auto filling machines, etc.
Storage of dies
Store the dies properly in order to use it for repetitive jobs and avoid warping issues while re-using die.
