Sona Papers hosts cricket tournament
In a show of sportsmanship and collaboration, Sona Papers organised a one-day cricket tournament Sona Paper Cricket League Season II (SPCL) on 19 October 2024, featuring teams from eight top companies in the industry. Held at Kicksal, Chhatarpur, the event was designed to foster teamwork, networking, and friendly competition, bringing together professionals for a day filled with high-energy matches and community building.

The SPCL kicked off with an opening ceremony led by Raju Suneja, marketing director, who emphasised the importance of balancing work with recreational activities that strengthen relationships across the industry. “This tournament is a testament to our commitment to fostering unity and engagement within our professional community," said Raju Suneja. The day proceeded with back-to-back matches, where participants showcased their cricketing skills and engaged in spirited competition.
Throughout the event, participants and supporters enjoyed an enthusiastic atmosphere, with each match bringing exciting moments, strategic plays, and outstanding performances. The event concluded with a closing ceremony where the top teams and individual players were awarded trophies and recognitions.
Eight highly motivated teams from leading companies — Cheil, Redington, Penguin, SML, OneRX, VML and Royal Enfield participated in the tournament, each representing the best of their organisations. The teams brought a competitive edge and displayed excellent sportsmanship, making every match thrilling and competitive. Each team’s passion and commitment to excellence were evident, with players collaborating closely and exhibiting both skill and resilience on the field.
The final match saw Cheil emerge as the champions after a gripping match with SML. Individual awards, such as Best Batsman, Best Bowler, and Player of the Tournament, were presented to recognise exceptional talent and contributions throughout the tournament.
