This is the company’s second Nilpeter investment. In late 2021, the company invested in its first flexo press from Nilpeter, a Prati slitting machine with BST inspection system, flatbed hotfoil and other miscellaneous machineries.

Bhavan Choudary Sunkara, executive director, SP Hi-Tech Printers, said, “The advanced features of Nilpeter allow us to print any complex job, starting from self-adhesive labels, shrink sleeves to 12-micron films. The press easily adapts to a wide range of stocks, which gives us a free hand and minimum job changeover time. Also, the technical support has been incredible, which makes our work easier.”

Sunkara added that the new press with its latest features has boosted the company’s production capacity and has helped it to serve its customers better. “With the new machine, we could cut down on delivery time, with both of our machines running,” he said.

He added, “The latest features of the press allow us to print multi-layer labels, shrink sleeves and short-run flexibles. We are expecting to capture the market with the above features.”

SP Hi-Tech Printers was established in 1998 by  Sunkara Purnachandra Rao and the late Sunkara Sudhakar. Over the years, the company has grown to be a prominent printer in the region with separate units for offset, inline flexo and corrugation. The company is known in equal parts for its state-of-the-art infrastructure, highly skilled team, robust processes and adoption of the latest technological advances.

The company stepped into packaging for the first time in 2019 and now has reinvented itself as a complete packaging unit from a commercial printer. “Our revenue has increased five times compared to pre-Covid days. Our investment in the label industry has been a milestone for our organisation since 2021,” he said.

The company has been in touch with Nilpeter for the last three years. “Satish Khanna has been a great support to us since the beginning of our label journey with Nilpeter. I would like to thank the Nilpeter team who’ve been supporting us in this remarkable journey and assisting us whenever required,” he added.

The company offers comprehensive printing solutions and specialises in printing with extensive plants and machinery. “At present, we deal with agro-chemicals, spirit and beverage companies across the nation. We also serve FMCG and pharma companies,” Sunkara said. “Our plant is set up in two locations spread across 75,000-sqft. We have a team of 250+ experienced employees.”

Sunkara said the technological advancements that have been changing rapidly, especially in the label industry, pushing the company to be updated with the market needs. “Also, personalised labels are creating a huge buzz in the industry. The jobs are getting converted in short-run quantities to be more specific for the target audiences. So, we at SP Hi-Tech are also planning to invest in a digital press in the near future,” he said.
