Spectrum's power of engagement at MMS roundtable

On 7 April 2016, Mumbai Mudrak Sangh (MMS) had organised a unique roundtable session at Garware Club House, Mumbai. In all, there were eight roundtable sessions which were running concurrently.

Amit Shah, managing director at Spectrum Scan, who was as excited about the T20 finals which he had witnessed at Edens Garden four days ago, in as much as the award-winning samples which he shared with the members of the Round Table said, “Today’s a printer needs to have a zeal for value addition, that is the only way to dazzle the customer.”

“Digital devices can engage your customers. Screen printing along with digital printing can create value addition”, added Shah. He highlighted the concept of the Print Bazaar at his Vasai unit and explained its benefits. He showcased various products innovations like the samples printed by 18-process (which has won him international awards), Trirama and backlit signages with light guided panel POS for which Spectrum has procured a patent plus entered into technological partnerships. All of it developed and designed by his team in Vasai.

Spectrum Scan offers design to execution of projects for its customers. Shah said, “Spectrum Scan's plan in 2016 is to announce its plastic packaging and extrusion segment.” Till then, he is happy innovating new products.

Members at the Roundtable were amazed at the firm’s products and especially Shah’s passion for innovation. And why not? Spectrum Scan is ranked among the top 10 in the world in screen printing.

Haresh Mehta of Jayna Packaging, said, “As a printer, are you ready to innovative? We need to do innovation and the whole company should add their feedback to improve.”

Samir Gulve, managing director at EFI, said, “Manufacturers are combining the digital and analogue technologies to come up with innovative products. A lot of hybrid machines will be on display at Drupa.” Gulve also stated, “It’s not going to be the printing press alone. Like mobile industry which was completely hardware oriented has transformed into an apps-oriented one, the entire ecosystem surrounding the printing press will come as a package. Mobility, apps, remote diagnostics etc will play a crucial role in the decision making of buying a printing press.”

Amit Shah led the 90-minute session which was moderated by Milind Deshpande. Other than Samir Gulve, top guns from the industry who were present on the table included, Mitesh Kothari of Arihant Digiprint, Sanjay Kelkar, director at Signext, Rajesh Brid of Rajesh Printouch, Naresh Kumar, managing director at Macromedia, Haresh Mehta of Jayna Packaging and Ashwin Maheshwari of Avenue Graphics.
