Square Vision opts for Bobst Ambition

Haridwar-based pharma packaging print company, Square Vision, has opted for a Bobst Ambition folder gluer aiming to further improve on its quality parameters and interrupted production timelines.

Arvind Singhal, founder director, Square Vision India, said, “We already have two folder gluers from a Bengaluru-based manufacturer but to ensure quality, and fast and accurate production we opted for a Bobst equipment. This equipment has increased our capacity so we are also planning to add another automatic die-cutting machines to our shopfloor.”

A commerce graduate, Singhal has been associated with printing industry since his college days. In earlier days of the career, he used to print and manufacture books. In 1996, however, he was forced to wind-up the business after the manufacturing facility was gutted down in an accidental fire with the unit resulting in heavy loss and debt.

Post the accident, Arvind Singhal, Renu Singhal and their son Ekansh Singhal together restarted the printing business and are the current directors in the family-owned business. Arvind is responsible for the entire business, Ritu is responsible for design and customer relationship and Ekansh Singhal, who holds BBA and MBA degrees from Leeds University, United Kingdom, recently joined the business and took over the responsibility of operations and business development.

The packaging printing company provides material for pharmaceutical industry and provides printed cartons; UV coated printed cartons, corrugated boxes, printed corrugated boxes, printed labels, leave-behind literature material and visual aids.

The company which majorly prints for pharma industry is equipped with one five-colour and one two-colour Heidelberg printing presses and two two-colour Dominant printing presses. The post-press division is equipped with Wohlenberg fully-automatic cutting machine, UV coating machine, paper lamination machine, paper creasing and die-cutting machine; folding, pasting and gluing machines, hot foil stamping machine and other equipment.

The corrugation segment is equipped with E-flute and  narrow roll set, corrugation machine micro with narrow roll set, board and roll cutter, pasting machine, four-bar rotary machine, eccentric slotter, stitching machines, automatic sheeter and slitter, board printer / flexo single colour machines.

The 11 printing units convert around 70 tonnes of paper per month and the corrugation segment of the facility converts around four-tonne of kraft paper. The company has facilities to test BS, BF, and GSM of paper and finished boxes.

On the reason to establish unit at Haridwar, Singhal, said, “We started in the area because of economic cost of land and because it is an excise-free zone.”

The director of the company, also shared that he wants to increase quality parameters in production, and therefore, will be opting for more automation.

Square Vision is targeting for Rs 15 crore turnover in the coming fiscal year. The printing facility is spread across 30,000 sq/ft area and employs around 100 people who work in a 12-hour shift. 

Singhal concluded, “We have huge capacity in printing and we are running our facility 12 hours a day so that most of our expansion will be in finishing segment. Firstly, we would like to take maximum output from existing equipment. Our progress in the Industry is good but it also requires lot of dedication and intervention in every step.”
